The objective is to design with the handicap of using waste as work material. The textile industry is the second largest polluter industry after petrochemicals, so it is important that as creators, we minimize the impact on the environment as much as possible. Therefore, in my work as a university teacher, I believe it is important to train sustainable designers. Both with them and through my brand, we will work with waste of different companies to make a collection of bags and garments, thus returning this waste to a circular economy.

Making design can have more than one definition. I want to reflect on the idea that making design is building a Society – Training – Industry framework within a specific cultural and social context that, necessarily, affects the speech of whoever does it. A network that grows in a vast, unpredictable, miscellaneous, ambiguous, risky and unknown universe where theory and practice can’t operate separately.

Kekelis jeweller’s & alchemy is a small handmade jewellery studio where, thanks to my experience with microscopy and plant materials, I transform a flower of a wedding bouquet, a trip or a memory into a personal jewel that lasts forever. Rather than talking about the brand, the goal is to talk face to face about training, skills and talents, in the plural.
