Garikoitz Rios Urbaneta, Bodegas Itsasmendi
Garikoitz Rios holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering. He’s Technical Director of Viñedos Itsasmendi since 1989 and since 1993 he’s founding partner and manager of Bodegas Itsasmendi. From 2001 to 2005, he was Member of “Bizkaiko Txakolina’s” Regulatory Board. Garikoitz has cooperated in several research projects related to viticulture and apart from working at Bodegas Itsasmendi, since 2006 he also teaches different courses.
Ricardo Pérez Martín, Grupo Yandiola
His career as a chef began at Basque Center “Aterpe Alai”, in Las Palmas. Later on, he worked in renowned restaurants such as Martin Berasategui (Lasarte), Café de Paris (Biarritz), El Bulli (next to Ferrá Adriá) and finally in NH Villa de Bilbao Hotel, where he worked as Chef de Cuisine. In 2000, he started working on his own at Yandiola restaurant (Campo Volantin, Bilbao) and since 2010 he’s promoter and manager of Grupo Yandiola, which manages and runs all of Azkuna Zentroa’s restaurant business.
